How do you make a dinosaur? Yank on its tail. Get it? Dino-sore? Oh, well. Besides a lot of bad jokes, dinosaurs have also inspired some of the most confusing, mixed-up ideas that people have about any creature that ever lived on Earth.
Part of the problem is a long string of "caveman" movies and cartoons like The Flintstones that show human beings living with dinosaurs or dinosaurs talking. Some of those movies have also given people strange ideas about when the dinosaurs lived, what they ate, and how they raised their dino babies.

The truth about dinosaurs is really a lot more fascinating and fun than all the silly ideas that some people have about what the dinosaurs were like.
During the past twenty years, scientists around the world have made tremendous discoveries that have filled in the gaps in our knowledge of these creatures.
For instance, they have found that feathers evolved on dinosaurs before they appeared on birds. They have also learned that many of the things we used to think about dinosaurs were mistakes.
